Preschool and Elementary

Open the door to their imagination. We invite preschool and elementary children to get curious as they learn about art through experiences specially designed for them. The tours are punctuated with observation games, inspiring stories, and exploration activities to awaken students’ imagination and encourage expression. At the Musée, art is brought to life with a friendly, engaging approach.

January 6 to June 20, 2025

Come discover the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion with our youngest visitors! This walk invites them to explore the spaces, admire the works, and awaken their curiosity. Along the way, they get to enjoy educational games and activities, turning an introduction to art into a fun, interactive experience. It’s the perfect way to get to know the Musée, marvel at its collections, and experience art while having fun!

Animals, whether furry or feathered, have inspired artists throughout the ages. As your students explore the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion, they’ll encounter wild, domestic, imaginary, and symbolic animals through fascinating works of art. These painted and sculpted animals will start conversations where they learn how to engage with the works and expand their knowledge of the animal kingdom.

The tour is followed by a craft workshop.

How do you observe a work of art? What is it saying? Where do painters and sculptors find their inspiration? Art raises a million questions, and we’ll explore them together on this tour of the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion and its exhibitions. As you observe, question, and discuss, this experience will help you decode the language of artists and understand how they turn their visions into inspiring works of art. Through this intriguing journey, you’ll also find your own creativity awakened.

Go on an incredible adventure through the Musée’s virtual galleries and lead a captivating investigation alongside our guides. Our works of art weave a fascinating tale, and your students will decide how the story ends.

Many works of art tell stories filled with intriguing characters and extraordinary settings. Come learn about the myths and legends they recount and get lost in their worlds as you imagine a fantastical story. As your students interact with our guides, they’ll be challenged to think creatively about different concepts using the group’s observations on works of art and their interpretation.
