Vers l'Espace Riopelle | Episode 7: A philanthropist's dream

In this episode, we introduce you to Michael J. Audain, a collector and philanthropist passionate about the work of Jean Paul Riopelle. President of the Fondation Riopelle, in December 2021 he announced a donation to help finance the future Espace Riopelle, coupled with an exceptional gift of 39 works by the artist. Thanks to his generosity, the Musée is consolidating the most important public collection of works by the painter and sculptor, while providing it with a fitting showcase.

The MNBAQ is writing a new page in its history with the creation of the future Espace Riopelle. This is a profoundly transformative project for the museum, which will see the construction of an international-calibre building housing the most important private collections of works by Jean Paul Riopelle, thanks to the Fondation Riopelle.

The series Vers l'Espace Riopelle follows the evolution and milestones of the project right up to the opening of the future pavilion in 2026. Over fifteen episodes, you'll be able to find out more, and above all, experience the behind-the-scenes with us.
